In Belgium, work carried out in a private home over ten years old is in principle eligible for a reduced VAT rate, subject to conditions (private use, invoicing by the contractor). This covers the roof, the heat pump and, depending on the rules in force, the solar installation.

The Walloon Region supports certain energy improvement works, in particular roof insulation and replacing the heating system with a heat pump. Access to these grants depends on conditions (income, age of the property, audit or application procedure).

In Wallonia, the electricity you do not consume is fed into the grid. The rules on metering and on payment for that export have changed in recent years (smart meter, prosumer tariff). What stays true everywhere: the more you consume on site, the more the installation pays for itself.
