Home battery

The midday sun, used in the evening.

Without a battery, your panels' surplus goes to the grid for almost nothing, and you buy electricity back at full price in the evening. A home battery stores that surplus and gives it back when the house needs it. Ecolive sizes it, fits it and monitors it, anywhere in Wallonia.

Why a battery

Stop exporting for nothing, stop buying in the evening.

A solar installation produces mostly between 11 am and 4 pm, when the house is often empty. That surplus goes to the grid and is bought back for far less than the kilowatt-hour you pay for at 7 pm, when everything is running. The battery shifts your production to the moment you actually consume.

The result: a larger share of your electricity comes from your roof, and a smaller share from the grid. That is the complete virtuous cycle: produce, store, consume.

Store the surplus

As soon as production exceeds consumption, the battery charges instead of sending the electricity to the grid.

Use it in the evening

Cooking, washing machine, heating, charging the car: the battery powers the house once the panels stop producing.

Buy less from the grid

The grid is called on last. Your bill follows what you buy, not what you produce.

Backup during an outage

With the backup option, a priority circuit in the house stays powered during a grid outage.

Understand it in 30 seconds

A day with a battery.

  1. Midday: the house overflows

The panels produce more than you consume. Without a battery, the surplus goes to the grid.

  2. The surplus charges the battery

The inverter directs the excess into the battery until it is full.

  3. Evening: the battery takes over

When production drops, the house draws from the battery first.

  4. The grid comes last

It only tops up what the panels and the battery have not covered.

What we do

From the meter readings to the follow-up, year after year.

A battery only makes sense when it is properly sized. We start from your figures, not from a catalogue.

Sizing

Meter readings, panel output, household habits: we calculate the capacity that fills every day and empties every evening, no more and no less.

Installation

Fitted in the technical room, connected to the existing inverter or to a dedicated one, electrical protection, commissioning and settings by our electricians.

Monitoring and guarantee

Monitoring app: production, storage, consumption, grid purchases. Battery guaranteed 10 years, servicing and repairs by the team that fitted it.

Why Ecolive

What you gain by choosing our installations.

Sized on your figures

No standard battery: the capacity is calculated from your readings and the output of your roof.

Compatible with your panels

Fitted with the panels or added later, it is cleanly connected to your inverter.

Guaranteed 10 years

Battery, inverter and fitting guaranteed 10 years, manufacturer warranties handed over with the invoice.

Local after-sales service

Monitoring and repairs by the team that fitted the battery, based in Dinant, across the whole of Wallonia.

The complete cycle

Panels, battery, heat pump: the house that runs on its own roof.

The panels produce, the battery keeps the surplus, the heat pump and the air conditioning use that electricity in the evening and at night. Ecolive fits all three and sizes them together, in a single survey, so that every kilowatt-hour produced is consumed in your home.

How it works

A home battery, in six steps.

  1. Consumption readings

Your bills, your meter, your habits: when the house consumes, and how much.

  2. Sizing

Capacity calculated from your midday surplus and your evening consumption, with or without a backup function.

  3. Quote

Detailed quote covering the battery, the connection and the commissioning, financing if you want it.

  4. Fitting

Installed in the technical room, connected to the inverter, protection and trunked cabling.

  5. Commissioning

Priorities set (house, battery, grid), monitoring app installed on your phone.

  6. Follow-up

Ten-year guarantee, remote checks, repairs by the team that fitted the battery.

Frequently asked questions

Home battery: what people ask before going ahead.

Do I need a battery with solar panels?

Without a battery, the midday surplus goes to the grid and is bought back for much less than the electricity you buy in the evening. A battery stores that surplus for the evening and cuts what you take from the grid. It is all the more useful if you are out during the day.

What battery capacity should I choose?

The one that covers your evening and night consumption, no more. We start from your real meter readings and the output of your panels: an oversized battery never fills, an undersized one overflows by midday.

Can a battery be added to an existing installation?

Yes, in most cases. Depending on your inverter, the battery connects directly or through a dedicated inverter. We check that during the visit, with no commitment.

How long does a home battery last?

The batteries we fit are guaranteed for 10 years. A management system limits the depth of discharge and the temperature to preserve capacity over time.

Does the battery power the house during an outage?

Only with a backup function planned at installation: a priority circuit stays powered during the outage. Tell us at the visit, the equipment and the wiring are different.
